This is a lot more than other car rental companies. You do get 100 points just for signing up. Bonus points can be earned for renting accessories. There are no blackout dates.
Avis Preferred Plus is an additional tier in the rewards program. You can move up to this tier after you have made 12 rental payments or spent $5,000. This level earns 1.25 points per $1. Earn 1.5 points per $1 if you rent 25 properties or spend $7,000 on rentals. You'll be eligible to receive complimentary upgrades if you are a Preferred Plus member. You'll also get many standard benefits such as expedited checkout, which allows you to go directly to your car and finish the rental right there.
